| Hi ..seeing as we now have the bbc iplayer as an option on our xmb i thought id start a thread where we can spread the word about technology related/or just good programs that may be of interest on the television! Ill kick things off with" Micro men" which you can find on bbc iplayer...it tells the story of Sir clive sinclair and Chris curry from acorn computers and how they battled to dominate the world of personal computing in the 1980s. realy fascinating funny fact based drama that i enjoyed very much! check it out and let us know of any good programs you can reccomend! _________________ Have spleen..will vent! |

One of my favourite programs to watch on the iPlayer is The Real Hustle it tells you how to avoid getting coned/scammed good for me seeing how my year consists of 2-3 holidays a year. And also it wins me money :p i play the proposition bets on my friends hehe. _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New ones in progress ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

| No Ib, my old 60GB (or 500GB now) has the iPlayer on it. It's located under the 'TV' menu tab on the XMB. Also where you'd find PlayTV. It appeared with the FW v3.0 update. If you don't have the iPlayer option then the iPlayer can still be used in a normal internet browser window. This is all the iPlayer option does for you anyway, open a browser window to the iPlayer page. I watched that 'Micro Men' thing too. It was not bad. Quite funny and interesting at the same time. | LoL @ you Dav! ib i will look into the problem you describe as i remember reading on the official forums that there is a quick fix for this common problem! ill post here when i find it! Dav the i player link on xmb is optimised for the ps3 and gives far superior quality than you will get through your browser (its more than just a shortcut) the differance is very apparent on a large screen and its definately something worth having....also are you sure Alexander Armstrong (who plays sir clive sinclair) was in underworld as i cant find any referance to it LoL sorry to be a pain but im a bit of a movie and entertainment bobble hat (bore) having worked in it for years On another note guess what ive just bought?.....a zx 80....sinclair spectrum plus 2.....and a ql...i now have every home computer sinclair produced...might b worth something when im dead ill pass them on to my kids.....now i just need to aquire the later machines that sir clive produced under the Cambridge brandname............... _________________ Have spleen..will vent! |

| No you're absolutely right Anto. I was confusing him with someone else. I'd like to blame it on it being late at the time of posting, etc. But truth be told, I just fail @ movies and stuff I'll edit my post now you've corrected me! |

| A bit late than never owell @ IB im sorry to hear you problem this has something to do with the way the instalation is processed i believe try updating to the lastest firmwire every PS3 model is compatable for the iPlayer since its webpage based just look for the TV icon on the XMB. @ Dav welcome back Dav havent spoke to you in ages great to see you active. As anto and you pointed out the iPlayer was specialy formated to fit the tv screen for the PS3 so yes you can see the difference but for me it does get abit annoying when the resalution of the iPlayers menu is too small. They could make it bigger for users displaying 1080i viewing. @ Anto lol so Micromen got you thinking back to them days unfortunatley ive never played on a Sinclair Spectrem or Quatum Leap. _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New ones in progress ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
